The Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé has announced the awarding of research grants as part of the Programme de recherche sur les jeux de hasard et d'argent et autres dépendances (Gambling and other addictions research program), which is part of the Concerted Actions program.
The research project “Health care and social services trajectories and problem gambling in Quebec” will be carried out by the Behavioral Addictions Research Laboratory, under the direction of Magaly Brodeur, in collaboration with the organization Gambling : Help and Referral (Jeu : aide et référence). This 3-year research project will improve knowledge of the health and social care trajectory of clients of the front-line addiction service, Gambling : Help and Referral ; and support the development of public policies to improve the health and social care experience of people with problem gambling by drawing on the perspective of people with problem gambling who have benefited from the services of the organisation Gambling : Help and Referral, as well as that of those who work with this clientele, including the organisation’s employees.
